Ride Better, Longer
A bike fit is one of the most valuable investments you can make in your riding experience. Through a personalized assessment and precise adjustments, we help create a position that enhances comfort, improves efficiency, and inspires confidence on every ride.

Custom Cycling Shoe Insoles
Your connection to the bike starts at your feet. Our custom cycling insoles are designed to support your unique foot structure, stabilize your pedal stroke, and eliminate common pressure points that lead to discomfort or inefficiency. The result is better power transfer, improved alignment, and a more stable foundation for every ride.

Comprehensive Bike Fit
A proper bike fit goes beyond comfort; it’s about creating a position that works with your body, not against it. At Cadence, our comprehensive bike fit process is built to improve efficiency, reduce the risk of injury, and help you ride longer with less fatigue. Whether you’re chasing performance gains or simply looking to feel better on the bike, every fit is tailored to the individual; no assumptions, no shortcuts.

Fizik One-to-One Custom Saddle
Cadence is one of the only shops in the United States offering the Fizik One-to-One Saddle program. Using advanced pressure mapping technology, we analyze how you interact with the saddle in real time and create a fully customized shape tailored to your anatomy and riding style. It’s a level of precision that takes the guesswork out of saddle selection; replacing trial and error with a solution built specifically for you.

Eric Takayama
I manage fitting services for Cadence Cyclery in Encinitas, California. I started coaching and fitting cyclists & triathletes in 2002. After a decade's-long career in apparel manufacturing, I created my own cycling-focused business in 2015, concentrating on bike fitting, maintenance and technical reviews for cycling websites. I have certifications from Fit Kit, Specialized Body Geometry, Retul and STT Systems (3DMA), as well as extensive education in kinesiology and sports science. I raced road as a Category 1, short course triathlons as a nationally-ranked age-grouper during the early 2000s and cyclocross in Europe as a master. I occasionally enjoy racing off-road still, but really cherish travelling the world with my wife and two teenagers.
Each year, I work with hundreds of riders across a broad range of ability, experience, and age. My fit process focuses primarily on optimizing equipment to encourage postural stability and bio-mechanical efficiency. My goal is to make operating a bicycle easier for an individual--hopefully leading to greater comfort, confidence and time spent riding.
